وہ ایک بہت سیاہ اور تاریک کوٹھڑی تھی ۔ اس قدر تارک کہ کوئی انسان اپنا ہاتھ نگاہوں کے سامنے لاتا تو اسے دیکھ نہ پاتا ۔
اس نے اندھیرے میں آنکھیں پھاڑ کردیکھنا چاہا لیکن کسی بھی جانب سے روشنی کی رمق نے ساتھ نہ دیا
۔ سب کچھ جیسے تاریکی نے سالم نگل لیا تھا۔ کچھ بھی کسی بھی جانب باقی نہیں رہا تھا۔ اس نے اپنے جسم کو چھوا۔ اسکا لباس جگہ جگہ سے پھٹا ہوا تھا۔ ان پھٹے حصوں پر تازہ
خون کے نشانات بھی موجود تھے ۔ یوں جیسے وہ بری طرح کی گئی ہو۔ یا اسے کچلنے کی بھرپور کوشش کی گئی ہو۔
اگلے ہی پل اسے اپنے تازہ لگے زخموں میں جلن سی محسوس ہوئی تھی ۔ اس نے ہذیانی انداز میں اپنے زخم کھرچ ڈالے تو انگلیاں خون سے بھر گئیں۔ اس نے ڈر کے اس خون کو اپنے گندے لباس سے صاف کرنے کی ناکام سی کوشش کی ۔
تاریک کو ٹھڑی میں اسکی سسکیاں گونجنے لگیں ۔ وہ بہت ڈری ہوئی تھی ۔ خوفزدہ تھی ۔ اندیکھا سا جماتا ہوا خوف تھا جس نے سر سے پیر تک اسکا احاطہ کرلیا تھا۔ اسے یہاں سے نکلنا تھا لیکن کسی بھی طرف دروازہ دکھائی نہ دیتا تھا۔ ہر دروازہ گویا اس سے خفا ہوکراپنا رُخ موڑچکا تھا۔ وہ سیاہی کے بے رحم سے دائرے میں چکر کاٹ رہی تھی ۔ کاٹتی جارہی تھی ۔
اگلے ہی پل اسے کسی نگاہیں اس اندھیر کال کوٹھڑی میں بھی خود پر محسوس ہوئیں تو وہ اپنی جگہ ہی ساکت ہوگئی ۔ یوں گویا جسم سے آخری قطرہ تک کسی نے سٹیج ڈالا ہو۔ ایک ۔۔بس ایک لمحے میں اسکا سارا وجود گلیشئر بن گیا تھا۔ سفید ـیخـبے جان۔
اور جیسے ہی اک ہاتھ اندھیرے میں اسکی گردن دبوچنے کے لئیے آگے بڑھا وہ ایک جھٹکے سے اٹھ بیٹھی ۔ اسکی نگاہوں کے سامنے زردی مائی ساکمرہ دم سادھے کھڑا تھا۔ پسینے کے باعث بال چہرے اور گردن پر جابجالٹوں کی صورت چپکے ہوئے تھے اور سانس یوں چل رہا تھا گویا وہ مسافتیں بھاگ کر عبور کرتی یہاں تک پہنچی ہو۔ اسکی پیشانی پسینے میں شرابور تھی ۔ ہتھیلوں نے مٹھی میں لحاف جکڑرکھا تھااور وہ خود میں سمٹی ہوئی بستر پر کسی کمزور پتے کی مانند لرزرہی تھی ۔
